A 2000 year old lotus seed was curious indeed. By all means, a seed should have withered to dust a long time ago. The only feasible way a seed would remain intact for this long would be if it underwent petrification or other natural means of preservation. Even then it would be nothing more than a rock, incapable of producing a plant. Dewei came to the conclusion that if the seed was indeed able to produce a plant, then it was a hoax. The young man must have been ripped off or misinformed one way or another.
