No, I think 99% of criminals only warrant jail time. I don't think a vigilante going around and killing is making the world any safer--he's only creating more crime. I personally support the death penalty--but in extremely limited cases such as serial murders, rapists and sociopaths in general should they be caught before they kill/rape/maim several times. (This is where people go, "but if they haven't killed multiple times, how do you they are a sociopath?" Trust me. You know.)

They said it very well in the Batman comic-- as many criminals as Batman captures, his actions create just as many.

If you allow one person the right to kill at will, you should allow others to kill at will.
