Anne, if it was possible, blushed a brighter shade of red, and hid her face in her textbook. At least she didn't have to worry about being called on, it only happened rarely, and the teacher only did it on Fridays.
When the bell rang signaling the end of their first class, Anne grabbed her bag and hightailed it out of there, but she had left the zipper undone, and she was in too much of a hurry to notice that her favorite, much loved book had fallen out of her back, and lay, neglected on the ground by her seat.
Her next class was Math, followed right after by Gym, which was the class she dreaded the most. She usually managed to get out of it with a note from her doctor saying that she was asthmatic, which was true, just not to the degree that the note insinuated. She was always afraid that the Gym teacher would just disregard the note, and say that he had forgotten about it. That would be a true horror.
