The strange woman was rambling again. Stopping, he figured he might as well listen to what she had to say. Who knew if she would talk about Melik and his whereabouts.

"Yes,"
he said nonchalantly, "your outfit is rather cute. Though I think you could do something more with your hair. Ribbons seem to be a reoccurring theme. Perhaps you should put one in your hair?" He put a hand to his chin to think. "Or perhaps a golden flower to pull the gold in your skirt out more?"

Having this discussion drew forth memories of he and Melik. When they were younger, Melik was always wearing god awful things. He would put the wrong colors together and always had too many different patterns going on. Melik liked things loud and bright--that's fine but gaudy and mismatched, well Fritz refused to let him leave the house. After years of work, he eventually taught Melik a thing or two about fashion. Granted, years later, Melik became the master of attire whereas Fritz... well, he liked to keep his traditional garbs. Plain and dull, but effective.

When she started boasting about her powers, Fritz grimaced. "And I'm a unicorn," rolled off his tongue. He was well aware of the fact that she could manipulate water but being a black belt? He doubted that. He was the black belt, master ninja. Never had he fallen from a rock like she had.

Sick of her pointless comments, he turned and left again. Only, this time she called out to him. Keeping his eyes toward the path he wished to escape down, he heard the woman ask him a very peculiar question.

Enough was enough. If this woman didn't want to take things seriously, he would make her.

Slowly, ever so slowly, his body would begin to ripple. It probably looked like a reflection found in the water. Only, it wasn't. It was real. Soon, fragments of his body would vanish until nothing was left. The snow were he once stood showed no signs of him being there either. Was it possible he was... never really there? Was he a ghost? Just a hallucination of a silly girl's mind? Of her burning desire to find someone to love?

Before she had a chance to move from where she stood, a spontaneous shudder would find its way down her spine. The air would grow thin, making it impossible to breath properly. The moon's rays cast larger, longer shadows on the white snow. Everything started to mutate into something straight out of a horror film.

"A woman shouldn't beg this much before a man," his voice whispered down her spine. There was a cool chill to it, as well as a softness that smelled like a summer breeze.

Just like that, his form materialized behind her. His body--just centimeters from hers--spilled its warmth into her. He was taller, much taller, so his body shielded the faint wind that kicked up snow from time to time. He seemed to block the moon's light, which could only mean he was glowing in her radiance.

If Nyx dared to roll her head up, she would find his fierce cyan orbs looking dangerously down at her. A glimmer of darkness twinkled somewhere in the rich color of his iris, as the moon's silvery light illuminated his face. His once dull teal hair was now a brilliant white color that contrasted his soft, peachy skin. Lips, taut and narrow, were drawn in a tight line across his face. He looked... apathetic.

Still, his so-called handsome face hardly looked like it wanted to kill or take advantage of her. There was a gentle, almost fatherly waver in his eyes. It was his oath to protect the vulnerable, to save the innocent. Nixie, no matter what she boasted and lied about, was still a little lass who needed saving. And perhaps, in that blinding moonlight, he looked like the kind of knight fit for an unorthodox princess.

Since he appeared behind her, his eyes were locked forward, showing no sign of moving. Then, suddenly, they jerked down. When their eyes eventually met, he would finish his statement. "It might just give him the wrong idea."
