The STORY

The Empire

The world of Fable was once divided into many small kingdoms. Eventually, consumed by their greed and hunger for power, the rulers of these kingdoms wiped each other out in war along with most of the population. The survivors, facing extinction, gathered together in what is now known as the land of Phyrien, where they named their leader Emperor. Emperor Rune proved to be a wise and moderate visionary, and under his rule, the once war-torn land has regained some sense of peace and prosperity.

However, with the return of peace comes the desire for something more, and old differences have not been forgotten. As the fledgling kingdom began its journey to reclaiming its former glory, three leaders emerged in the Emperor's court, each with their own idea of what Phyrien should look like. As people came to embrace these ideologies, this gave rise to factions, each seeking supremacy over the other.

Factions

In the land of Phyrien, there are three main factions, each named after its respective leader: Ephraim, Morelyn and Kafka.

The oldest of two surviving sons of one of the old Chuu Noble families, Ephraim wants nothing more than to return to the good old days before the war took everything he ever loved away from him. He campaigns for a land where the strong protect the weak, where the nobility uphold the responsibility given to them by the spirits to govern the land righteously and time-honoured traditions are respected. With him stand those who value valour, honour, tradition and spirituality.

Orphaned by the war as a child, Morelyn was raised by a tribe of Snuffles renowned for their keen fighting abilities. Their fame meant they were often hired as mercenaries, bodyguards and assassins by employers who often betrayed them. Tired of watching her people being treated unfairly by those with wealth and power, she fights to eliminate all class, financial and social disparity and create a world of friends where everyone is equal. With her stand those who value equality, justice, camaraderie and community.

A talented Anima from a long line of Minx Enchanters, Kafka was often at loggerheads with his family and peers because of his controversial ideas and willingness to try new things. Tired of outdated practices and values hindering intellectual progress, he seeks a land where people aren't afraid of change and are judged solely by their merits, where everyone can do as they please so long as they don't incur harm upon others. With him stand those who value knowledge, freedom, progress and adventure.
