The boy reassuringly put his arm around the girl and replied, "The noise is that of the gold-mining gnomes. They are mining these tunnels for gold."
The girl looked even more frightened than before. "What will happen if the gnomes find us? And how will we ever get out of here? she asked with fear in her voice.
