She did not speak, which in itself said quite a bit as well. She shifted a few times, little movements many would not notice. It gave hint that he might be getting to her in some way, even if she did not outwardly speak it. Nor did she move from their enclosed space, another either bold or foolish move on her part. Possibly both as well. He remained silent as he awaited an answer from her, his own position not changing in nature. She finally changed a bit, smirking at him in an almost sarchastic way. She gave him her name, saying that she was called Dayna. The name resonated within him, even as she let the next arrow fly and moved on him. He turned his body a bit, allowing the arrow to graze him but not fully land on its target.

It was an annoyance, a ruse. The real threat came from the attack behind it, the attack from her. She moved towards him, another bold move as well. She did not show the fear that some did when they came here, but then there were others who were overly confident. Following the slight move to the side, he pressed forward himself. Enclosing the gap between them more as well. He turned the sword, so the broad side made contact with her waiting bow. It was not to attack, but a blocking menuver as well. As if he desired to get close to her. He was aware of the blade she held as well, would she use it now? His eyes on her's, she had given him her name, so he at least owed her his.

"I am Kuroyami...also known as Esuna, Knight to the house of Vladamir" his words smooth and calm still as ever. Their close proxemity would most likely not last. Whether she went for the sword or not. He took the next move once again, turning his body once more. He slid around her, his sword sliding off of her bow, till he was now standing upon the higher stair. Her acention up blocked off now, only choice being down. He shifted the sword a bit, in the process the chain with the cross brushed against the hilt. Doiminantly right handed, it was the one he most used. But it was wise for a knight to be able to use both hands in battle, if the one was to be damaged. He could hold his own with left or right, but habit made him choose right originally.

His eyes lowered for a fraction of a second to the necklace. A flash of a handsome face in his mind. His mentor, his brother and friend. The one who had once wore it and had once been here with him. He had remained by his side for so long....and even now had remained here to protect his home. Perhaps partly in hopes he would one day return. "You are here either way for your family.....as well as in part out of pride" his eyes moved back to her, "vengeance for wrongs you believe we have committed towards you?" He glanced at his arm. The arrow had caught the arm of his coat. A light sting that it had caught his skin felt, but it was not a deep wound. It would be find and he could mend the cloth.

"Both sides have their story, though as a Cain, I doubt you are interested in hearing more than what you have been ignorantly told" he turned his attention once more back on hers. "You feel a connection with those that came long before you, a self righteous need to claim back what they have lost? Foolish and naive girl....you come barging in here knowing truly nothing" with that he moved forward again, bringing down the blade once more towards her. She could counter or doge if she wished, but now, the real fight would begin.
