Adair snorted before he turned to go back to the city, purposely walking well away from the direction that Damian had gone. The other man had managed to tease him right up until the end, but Adair was smiling as he walked. He couldn't help it, he was too interested in things to be upset. The only thing he had to be upset about was that he hadn't caught any marks today and it was already too late to go chasing down the wrong-doers of the city.

Without having much other choice, he went to the local bar and ordered the cheapest drink and snack. It wasn't much, but he had lived off of less before. The penniless life was nostalgic in its own way. If he didn't get kicked out, he planned to stay in the bar for the night, spending the last of his money and picking up helpful rumors as he did so.
