Ian had twitched a lot in his sleep, becoming lost in faceless nightmares he always suffered from while he slumbered. His hidden demons from his past liked to torment him and often he woke up, sweating and crying quietly. He was always glad to wake up in Martin's arms, it instantly calmed him, more than slicing his skin and watching himself bleed. He wished martin could protect him from his own memories, but there was a limit to the man's powers.

When morning came, Ian had been lying awake for awhile, turning his head when he sensed Martin's eyes open. He grinned and licked the man's nose. "Good morn, my love," he said.
