i found out the reason mom's heart stopped. shehad an irreguler heart beat and it threw the heart off so much that it stopped, so she in a sense had a heart attack. and the reason they have her in a medical induced coma is to prevent her having another attack.. apparently its the most 'restful' for the body and takes strain off of it.
