Detecting motion, Lexi organized her arm back into it's usual humanoid shape before hopping off of the countertop she had been sitting on. A quick calculation showed that there was a ninety-three point six percent chance that the person walking through the halls was Noemi. The other scientists were never there so early. Most of them arrived ten minutes before the other students. Still, as she hovered down the hallways, safe in her concealment due to the lack of students, a strange sensation came over her that caused her to stop. Her feet coalesced out of the mirrored cloud, perfectly matching her skin tone and everything as she analyzed the data.
After a few moments though, she shook her head and resumed her journey. She had been ordered the night before to seek out a scientist so that they could run some more tests. They would only take a few moments, but she still prioritized the command. It wasn't as if she had other things to do. Having no need of sleep made nights rather long, tedious, and lonely. That was a feeling that caused no conflict in her programming. Loneliness. She could remember how it felt to come to terms with that emotion. Indeed, it had required a lot of research.
Eventually, she crossed the corridor that Noemi was in, turning to face her before dropping the few inches to the ground. "I am ready to begin the tests, Dr. Ishida," she announced, awaiting a response. Her mimicry of the human body was profound, especially considering the fact that she had no need of breathing, blinking, or any of the other countless involuntary reactions humans had. Still, her chest rose and fell like any other petite female, and her brilliant eyes vanished behind eyelids every so often as well.
