Besides, guns aren't suppose to be the source of respect for a Policeman. It the laws and people they're protecting.
A robber that has a gun is only going to be listened to because he doesn't care about your well being and will happily shoot you.
There's very little in the way of respecting a robber.
Though the fact that some police can be like that, also muddles the situation....
