Taka laughed softly. "I didn't know people like you two existed until a couple of days ago." He reached around the boy sleeping in his lap to check the food. Seeing that it was done, he pulled it off and offered some to Haru. "So what is your story?" He asked.

He started eating his fish, not bothering to wake the boy. He figured Tomoe could use the sleep and if he awoke hungry later, Taka could go find some more food. He decided that in the morning, he might go looking for a deer and try to make some jerky. That way the boy could eat anytime he was hungry.

He knew that sooner or later he was going to have to return to his employers and tell them he was done or they would soon come looking for him. But there was nothing he could do about it tonight, so he turned his attention back to his food and the man before him.
