Monday, January 5, 2015 - Earliest Memory

My earliest memory is from when I was three years old. It was early in the morning, and with the lights off and sunlight peeking through the curtains, the usually yellow walls of the room seemed to be a light-greyish blue tint. I was leaving my house with my father to visit my mother in the hospital.

I don't remember the car ride, but I remember my mother lying on the bed wearing clothes that were unfamiliar -- lent by the hospital. I asked her where her regular clothes were, and she told me they were in a drawer in the chest next to her bed. I opened both of the drawers, but only saw hospital gowns in them.

At the edge of the bed, I asked her the difference between several words.

Later, on the other side of the bed, my new baby brother was in an enclosed little bed. I wasn't tall enough to see him. But of course, I got to see much more of him after that :)
