Without running for her life or being strapped to a bed, and having food on her stomach and in her own element, the blonde haired girl was getting some of her color back. Her tan wouldn't come back without the sun, but her eyes were looking less sunken and grey, and returning to that warm hazel they usually held. They looked over at Ryan with a slight disappointment when he simply said, 'surviving'.

She supposed she couldn't really blame him. She wasn't the biggest talker on past problems and hurts herself. Still, she wasn't any happier when he explained himself. Sure, he had a couple of personalities and one of them was just downright awful, but no one deserved to be beat so badly.

When she finished her fruit, she grabbed a bottle of water and pushed herself to her feet. Ryan was already settling into the cushions and looked tired. They were both tired and drained, and Ryan had lost a lot of blood. She left without saying anything, cleaning up the rags and things while he must have fallen asleep.

Sophie had just enough energy to climb up the stairs to her bedroom and remove her clothes, finding some cotton-like shorts and a tank top to sleep in. She dug around for a moment, but concluded there just wasn't anything big enough to fit Ryan that she could leave down there for him to wake to. Oh well. She'd paid him back for rescuing him.

Without even having enough energy to pull back the sheets, Sophie fell onto the bed. The moment her head hit her pillow, she was asleep. She was immediately sucked into heavy dreaming; nightmares, that might never leave her alone again. This was only her second chance at somewhat decent sleep since leaving that, hell, after all.

The small girl tossed and turned, and grumbled, reliving the horrors of that place over and over. Masks loomed over her and she couldn't see. Words, laughter, solitude, fear; it all swirled together and beat down on her. White walls were everywhere. Needles and knives and straps....

At some point in the early morning, the being Sophie had been looking out for finally arrived. Padding up the steps around the tree after picking up on Sophie's scent, the feline entered the main floor of the tree house, and sniffed. She knew Sophie was sleeping, but was intent on waking her human companion. There was just something else she had to check out first...

Over on a pile of cushions, was a stranger. He smelled wounded, and looked harmless. The animal resembling something of a white tiger, though much larger, with its back coming up past Sophie's rib cage, padded quietly over to where Ryan slept. She sniffed around the area, and decided she would guard this man. Guard him from outsiders or guard Sophie from him, who would know? But in the mean time, the tiger helped herself to what was left in the basket, noisily crunching through the cheetos bag and knocking the basket around.
