There was the sound of snuffling, a large canine padding down an alleyway. The dog finally stopped and raised its head, finally dragging its tongue across its scarred maw. With a bark and a subsequent yowl it lunged. There was a terrible crack as its jaws slammed on the neck of a cat, the skinny feline gurgling before growing limp. Triumphantly the large beast turned and trudge off, heading somewhere where it could easily devour its meal.

When it reached a rather secluded spot it sat. Looking around cautiously, ears twitching, it finally dropped its meal. Standing once more and, with a pained groaning sound and the sound of snapping bones, it changed. A young woman soon knelt in its place, naked and sweating from the pain. Licking her lips, Audrey Fontaine reached her hand out, grabbed the dead cat, and tore into it, sucking down large chunks of meat, blood, and bone with little discrimination. She always preferred to eat this way. That way she could actually taste her meals.

Finally she finished, the disgusting sight finally over as the still nude woman sat in the decrepit alley, blood splashed down her face, neck, and bare chest. Audrey turned and stood, making her way to a dry box in the corner. She removed a towel and, wetting it down in a puddle, cleaned herself off. She tossed the cloth aside and made her way back to the box, removing her clothing and putting it on; a ratty striped t-shirt (faded from use and age), a pair of black jeans, leather steel-toed work boots she nicked off a dead guy, and, her most treasured possession, a leather jacket.

With a content sigh she turned and made her way out onto the street, taking in a long whiff of the rainy East coast town. Oh they were here. The bitch with the necklace was here. If she was lucky she had the book too. If not she'd find it. Then she'd find a witch willing to help her. Then those bloodsucking stains on the world would all suffer the nasty death they deserved.
