The moon looked hazy through a few clouds. What light came through from the stars looked scattered and faint, like someone smudged the sky with their fingers. For a while, Trey just stared up at it. He wanted to slip down and get in the water, but he feared he'd do something stupid and keep swimming. He might end up in Dover and then what would he do. He shivered, blaming the cool air as he tried to pull away from his thoughts.

Just as he was about to walk away from the channel, something strange reached his nose. Trey wrinkled his, completely taken aback. A new kind of smell? What was it? It reminded him of human, of the pulsing and warm scent of blood, but sweeter and just...different. All he knew, he wanted to smell more of it very much. He turned, stepping closer to the scent's origin. For a second, he thought he heard something carried on the wind, but it wasn't until he took a few more steps that the music started. Familiar? Why was it familiar?

Keeping as quiet and out of the way as possible, Trey snuck around toward the source and soon discerned a figure from the shadows. So it was a human after all? His fangs came out in readiness for this strange situation though he wasn't the least bit hungry. Snapping into action, he rushed forward to drop both hand in the figure's lap as he leaned forward to get one big sniff. He blinked and pulled back slightly, his brow furrowed. "You're not human."
