Tyler woke up groggily stumbling out of his small mattress, nothing more then a large amount of newspapers that had been bundled up to create a small form of padding against the cold hard cement of the control room. He was short for his age and slender, he stood at only around 5'4" and he weighed only around 110 pounds, scrawny, since his growth spurt never seemed to have hit with how small his diet was. His dark dirty blonde hair lay matted in some places and in others it stook straight up, especially around his cowlick. He rubbed his eyes and debated if he should just go back to bed or not, deciding that it had to be later in the day, his sense of time being screwed up since he rarely visited the surface. Slowly he fumbled with random wrappers that sat on the consul, which no longer worked, eventually his hand found one that still had a little of a ration bar still in it, which he grabbed and stuffed quickly into his mouth, a trait he picked up since food seemed scarce for him, eat all you can as fast as you can.

After having his morning meal he slowly rifled through his bedding looking for the hilt he carried with him always, he worried for a moment unable to find it but let out a sigh of relief as his hand hit the hard hilt in the soft newspaper. He smiled as he pulled it out and tied it to his belt, then stretched and headed out the near by door, "Today... ill explore the north tunnel, there's always noises coming from there, since its so close to the surface... so ill have to be careful." he said to himself as he walked slowly down the tracks, his bare feet allowing him to easily grip the metal as he used it like it was a high beam. The dark tunnels of the subway were his home and had been for a while so he was normally accustomed to the sounds that rang inside of them, he had avoided the north tunnel due to the fact that the noises coming from there were not like the rest of the tunnels and he couldn't tell why. Tyler walked for a good half hour before he reached the switch over platform to the other subway, from the platform he could already hear a difference in the sounds that came from this subway. He took a deep breath calming his nerves and made his way into the subway choosing a direction to go.

He walked for a while until he heard a rising noise, some of which sounded like the mindless back noise for the outside world and some which he could identify, they sounded like voices but that was crazy, no one else could live down here, or so he thought. He slowly walked watching ever step as the voices and outside noises started to get louder, he noticed a door to his right as he walked and ducked into it noticing it as a maintenance shaft for workers long ago. He took the ladder which precariously hung by only a few holders up into the old ventilation shaft. As he crawled into the decrepit pipe he sneezed from the initial dust cloud that appear since nothing had been here in a long while. He slowly crawled through the shaft trying to avoid the voices and voices, but quickly he realized that the vent was taking him almost directly above the sounds. As he crawled he tried to make as little noise as possible, eventually he came to a small broken part of the pipe and crawled out landing softly next to a wall, the voices seemingly coming from the other side of the wall which made him relax a bit as he started to move again. He walked crouched, slowly as he hugged the wall trying to find a place to peak in and see what the voices were undetected. After a minute or so he was able to recognize 2 voices, both seemingly male, one of them though sounded off but he didn't understand why it was so weird. Tyler looked in front of him and saw a small crack in the wall, as light leaked out into the rest of the subway on this side, he slowly creep'd up to the crack and peeked in his eyes taking a while to adjust to the lit room, as they adjusted he was able to see what was inside and his eyes grew slightly wide. There was what looked to be a girl, though her coloring seemed to be off, not pink like he was, he thought as he looked down at his own skin in the light then back at the girl. There was some one else down here in the subways which freaked him out inside, he wasn't alone down here, were they enemies or stragglers.
