Had it really been ten years since she'd awakened already? Emerald turned her face away from the sun that she had angled in the direction of, bathing in the warmth of the sunlight. She'd gotten used to things now, but...it was surreal knowing that so many years had passed and knowing that she might not see any of the other guardians for a while yet. Well...almost none. She cast a glance to the magazine rack at the front of the flower shop and shook her head. She hadn't really tried to get into contact with him yet to verify, but Emerald was almost one hundred percent sure that one of the models that had suddenly exploded into popularity a few years back was Aquamarine. She wondered how that child was faring.

"JingFei! I've finished with the bouquets that need to be delivered, can you go deliver them?"

JingFei. It was strange having the humans call her as such, but she supposed it fit her. It was a name of Chinese origins meaning "still fragrance" perhaps it was a poke at the fact that the scent of flowers was always clinging to her no matter where she was.

"Yes sir, I'll be back shortly." Emerald pulled the hair-tie that kept her wavy hair back out and let her tresses fall loosely around her face as she pulled off the apron she wore while working. Then she gathered up the bouquets, carefully setting them all into a basket with which to carry them as she made her rounds. As she passed by the front display, she took a daisy from the water and tucked it behind her ear.

Ten years ago she had awakened to find herself in some sort of vault. It had been terrifying being surrounded by so much metal and no natural life. She had managed to hide and bide her time till someone opened it and get out, amazingly she had never gotten caught. But she'd always been wary of visiting banks and official buildings since then.

The flower pattern on her arm shifted then, the lavender that had been beautifully blooming beginning to wilt, and Emerald took a calming breath, pulling the list she had tucked in with the bouquets out to check where she would be delivering flowers. Most of these were in a part of town she'd never been in. She hadn't really left this neighborhood much since she made a place for herself here. They were small businesses that had requested the bouquets mostly. For decoration purposes probably. Emerald smiled to herself. She didn't mean to brag, but the flowers from their shop were always the most beautiful, though she had a feeling it was because the flowers were trying to impress her.

"Silly things...they're all so lovely already." she murmured. Checking for oncoming cars, Emerald quickly crossed the street and checked the papers again. So she turned this corner...and walked that way...and then the cafe should be right...Emerald lifted her eyes and smiled when she saw the cafe's name right where she thought it would be. She felt an odd...pull towards the cafe and stopped where she was, across the street from it and frowned down at her arms when the lavender gave way to flowering syringa. Memory. Her grip on the basket tightened and she looked around warily, it would be bad if someone saw the flowers on her arm suddenly changing like that. Shaking her head she carefully made her way across the street and entered the cafe. She had a job to do...she couldn't stay out too long.

Refusing the urge to look around, Emerald quickly went up to the one of the waitresses and smiled as happily as she could muster, while a prickling sensation swept over her skin. "Hi, I've got a delivery from Mint Flower-shop for this location?"

"Thank you for your hard work." Aquamarine bowed and gave a shy smile to the professionals all milling about, cleaning up after the last photo-shoot. There was a smattering of responses before Aquamarine found himself being swept off to the changing rooms to have what little make-up they'd applied taken off and to be allowed to change back into his civilian clothes. This life was...hectic. He found he was always on his feet trying to do his best to keep up with what was expected of him in this industry.

Eight years since he'd awakened. Five years since he'd been scouted. Aquamarine had just smiled and said he'd had good genes when asked about his looks, he couldn't really say anything about how he wasn't human, that would be...a bad situation. He hadn't really thought of himself to be all that good-looking when compared to Diamond and Peridot in the past. He'd preferred to have never been scouted like this in the first place...but perhaps if any of the other guardians had awakened...they might be able to find him easier like this.

The smile that had been on his lips slid off, and his now usual look of silent contemplation fitted itself to his features. A few minutes after he'd finished changing, his personal assistant entered the room to tell him that he'd have the rest of the day off, he'd gotten his work done in a really timely manner. With a nod Aquamarine moved to leave the area, but his PA stopped him with a hand to his arm. "Here, don't forget these in public. You have a pretty distinctive look, but your eyes will definitely give you away."

Aquamarine took the offered sunglasses and studied them before sliding them on and nodding in thanks before leaving at last.

It was refreshing being out of the blinding lights of the studio, a passing wind lifted strands of his hair and Aquamarine looked around, wondering what he could do. He had yet to remember how to get home, much to his agency's frustration, so he'd have to stick around in the city until someone came looking for him.

As he walked, he fiddled with the sunglasses on his face. He wondered if they didn't just make him stand out even more? The PA wasn't wrong about his eyes though...while at a quick glance they were just a silvery color, upon closer inspection they had an aquamarine sheen to them, staying true to his gemstone. Having had enough of the pushing crowds and worrying about what his PA would scold him about if he accidentally dropped the sunglasses, Aquamarine ducked into the library. The sudden silence was actually quite deafening compared to the noisy streets behind the doors he had entered from.
