"Frightening indeed," Vlad muttered under his breath, his teal eyes lingering on the book in question. Every word that Artemis spoke was true. Through understanding came empathy and acceptance. There would be no system, no SFA, should there be a sympathetic movement for the criminals of the world.

With a chuckle, the tall male lifted his hand to inspect the finger's he'd scorched before Artemis entered the room. They were completely healed - no mark had been left behind. "There must always be some distance between black and white." Vlad met Artemis' gaze steadily, the action seeming to remind him that she was still in the room. Threat levels lifted once again. "Otherwise, everything would be the same shade of grey."

The agent reached for the door once again, and Vlad's teal eyes filled with relief. Then, Vlad's Purium activated. Where Artemis touched the door, it became freezing cold. The candles immediately went out, and the room dropped a few degrees. Lifting energy from the room took more effort than human flesh, but Vlad could still manage it. He couldn't resist at least taunting the agent before she left.

Vlad dismissed Artemis by turning his back to her once again, the room darkening as the cityscape faded into the wall once again. There was no music now. No candlelight, no sound, no welcoming city smells - just cold darkness, broken only by the glowing of Vlad's eyes and Purium crystal.

"Good evening." His tone was cold now, no longer welcoming or under the pretense of formality. He was finished with keeping company for the evening. Or, so he thought.
