Long ago, when castles and kingdoms still ruled the land, a terrible war spanned between the house of Vladamir and the house of Cain. The two had originally been one kingdom, but the kingdom had split when the two sons had argued on the manner of which to unite the two. Now both families desired to unite the two once more back into one. This resulted in many feuds and arguments about how to do just that. One night, a stranger appeared on the doorstep of the house of Cain, seeking refuge and help. Being wrapped up in his war efforts, the Lord of the family turned the other away, causing him to head to the Vladamir house. There, the family's Lady of the house took the other in and gave him shelter and food. The two spoke upon the matter of the war and the fractured family. For her generosity, the man offered her a beautiful silver necklace with a ruby in the shape of a heart placed at the center. It was blood red in color, and he said it would save her family. By morning, the stranger was gone.

The Lady kept the necklace given to her close to her heart, though she did not believe that such a simple thing could help her family. On the night of the new moon, something changed. The ruby stone began to glow, and all who carried the Vladamir name began to feel a wrenching pain within their bodies. Their eyes turned red within the darkness, their canines sharpening to that of fangs. Their entire bodies undergoing a change that none of them had ever experienced before. By morning, the pain had subsided. Upon examining themselves, they appeared normal in nature. The house of Cain launched an attack upon their house that day, an attack that would make everything all to real. The eldest son of the house by the name of Alexander was the first to approach the intruders. As a result of a scuffle, a blade was plunged through his chest. It was expected that he would die, but he did not bleed nor fall to the floor. The blade removed, he was still living.

Horrified, the house of Cain withdrew. The Vladamir family gathered, afraid of what happened. Alexander thought that it had only been him affected, cursed for some reason. He offered to leave the house. The Lady of the house and his mother refused to hear it. As the sun began to set, all those who bore the Vladamir name noticed a change. Their eyes once more turned red, their skin turned pale and their fangs lengthened once more. The Lady of the house horrified feared that it might indeed be the power of the necklace that the stranger had given her. He told her that the necklace would help her family. It had indeed helped save her son,...but at what cost? What had they become. Under council of her eldest son, the family locked themselves away for the next year. Over that time, they came to notice that their bodies had indeed changed. Their senses became like an animal's. Their strength and speed beyond that of any mortal's.

They appeared normal in the sunlight, but during the night, they took on this other form. Over time, the Lady of the house began to change. She began to hold the necklace at a high regard, keeping it close to her being at all times. She then by the new moon decided to use these new gifts they had been given to unite the families. Thus the house of Vladamir attacked the house of Cain. As a result, those who did not surrender were killed. Those who did were agreed a good life and given the protection of the Vladamir house. The joining of the two houses gave both power. With each born from a member of the Vladamir, they were given the gifts of the necklace as well. Rumors spread around the lands, soon the family given the term of 'Vampires'. Over time, rumors began to spread, stories began to grow as well.

It was rumored their fangs allowed them to drink blood, a lie since blood repulsed many of the family. Another was that they could be killed by sunlight or by a stake through the heart. Many of the family began to spend more of their time indoors, finding it easier to deal with the world during the night when fewer people were around. At the same time, a stake through the heart did nothing to them, as they healed. As time went on and the world changed, some of those who had come to know this power went crazy. They tried whatever they could to end their lives with no end. At the same time, decedents of the house of Cain made a ploy to obtain the necklace from the lady of the Vladamir house. For they believed that obtaining it and destroying it would finally kill all those who were affected by it. At the same time, some of the family wanted to gain the power that those in the Vladamir house had. In order to protect her family and the necklace, the Lady of the house took off from her family.

Years passed, and no one knows what happened to the Lady or the necklace. Those who are decedents of the Vladamir house continued to be plagued by this power. Those who were of the Vladamir house in the original past kept the castle up and running or left to travel the world. Those within the house of Cain either went their own ways but passed down the stories or some remained with those of the Vladamir house. Now in 2015, members of both sides have their feelings and desires. Some from both sides wish to find and destroy the necklace that became known as the 'Vampire's Heart', while others use their abilities for their own gain. Some of the decedents of Cain desiring the power still as well. At the same time, humans are caught in the middle. Those who have become privy to secrets they shouldn't have their own goals as well. But it all hinges on finding the necklace that vanished so long ago.
