Their hair is parted to a different side. :3 (Though I can't tell you which is which right at the moment since it's been so long since I read or watched OHSHC.) And later in the manga, at least, you can absolutely tell them apart as they grow more comfortable with the thought of being individuals. Hikaru is brash and Kaoru is gentle. :3
