The water was steaming, heated and ready to be used. Moving it to a cup where the tea leaves awaited the hot liquid, he watched the steam that they produced. As the leaves sat, the water slowly began to gain a darker color to it. He did not add any sugar, taking it bitter as it was. The man had brought him what was called tea bags. Processed tea that was supposed to make it easier. Kuroyami preferred the natural way of the older days. It had a different taste in his opinion. Sitting at the base of the steps, he sat the cup upon the step by him. His fingers intertwined as his hands folded. From one of his gloves, something hung down and brushed his knee. A silver beaded chain, with a small cross that hung from it.

This, was important to him more than anyone would understand. It was from his mentor Alexander before he left. It was something he held close to his heart, a constant reminder of what had happened, as well as his task at hand. He sighed, closing his eyes. He did not move from there at the moment, allowing his muscles and in time his body to relax. At times, he would take a sip of the tea, but soon it grew cold with a lack of attention. He remained there for some time, before the sound of a horn caused him to look up towards the doors. He was up in a single motion. Striding to the door, his hand pulled it open in time to see the truck parking in front. So, his guest had arrived a bit earlier than expected. He watched as a gruff looking man got out. Brown hair and beard, wearing large plumber like gloves.

He gave a big smile, waving to Kuroyami as he saw him at the door. "Aye, good morning Kuro" the man had shortened his name, saying it sounded more modern and easy to say. Especially for who followed out of the truck. A small girl, about ten now. She immediately made a run for the younger looking man. "Uncle Kuro!" she threw her arms around him in a hug. He looked down to her, before a warm smile formed on his lips. He gently laid a hand upon her head. The father stepped around, patting the bed of the truck. "Got a good delivery today...including some new books for you" he smiled. Kuroyami nodded, he was always thankful for new books, something to pass the time. "I wanna help!" the girl ran back towards the truck. Kuroyami chuckled , "perhaps after you would care to stay for a meal?" he asked.

The man smiled at him, "that's real kind and you know we'd love to....but I have another stop to make today sadly in the next town over." The girl pouted, holding a bag of potatoes in her arms. Her father chuckling, "I'll make you a deal though, once done, how bout we have a party. The three of us." The girl smiled big, throwing her hands up "yay!" Unfortunately, she dropped the bag in the process. Potatoes spilled all over the ground. Kuroyami chuckled, moving over to help pick them up. As a slight breeze moved through the area once more though he paused. His eyes moving to the trees, where he seemed to in an instant be looking right into the eyes of the intruder upon the property. The female with a bow pointed at them. He frowned, remaining there for a moment, before turning back to the task at hand. It was a mystery if he had actually noticed her or not, for he gave no hint of it.

Calm and steady, he made no move to call out or move. In what might be seen as a simple move to clean up the potatoes however, he placed his physical form between the woman with the bow and the child and her father. He would not allow them to get hurt one way or another. Even if it meant taking the sting of an arrow. The potatoes picked up, the pair began to unload the truck. Kuroyami turned his back to the woman in the woods. He did not still give any hint of noticing her or making a move. For it was known turning a back upon the enemy, especially one who had a weapon pointed on you was foolish. Though after the battles he had been through and what he was, such things he could afford more than others. However, if she did make a move....one that put the other two's lives at risk....his blade would be at her throat before she could load another arrow.

The task finally done, the man came over to him. He hugged him, "you know you are always welcome to come visit us...or leave here with us." He offered at least once every time he came. Each time, Kuroyami's answer was the same. "Thank you, but my place is here" he nodded. The man smiled, before heading to the truck. The girl followed, waving at him, "bye uncle Kuro!" she hopped into the truck with her father. Soon enough, it was pulling down the road. Kuroyami watched it for a moment, before turning. He didn't glance at the woods as he stepped back inside of the house. If this mystery woman wanted something, she would have to approach the castle. This was his turf, he knew every nook and cranny....she would have little chance of beating him in his own house.
