The woman spoke that she was not there to try and kill him. That he was more useful alive. He almost actually laughed lightly at that. She could not kill him even if she desired to. She wanted him alive, so she planed to imprison him for something? Either way it mattered little. He would not be the easy prey she might hope for. The second arrow came for him, he was used to this kind of combat as well. Some thought fighting from a distance would give them an upper hand, but that was not going to save her. He moved forward, right at the coming arrow. His blade moving up, in a swift movement metal hit wood. The arrow deflected from its target, while the shaft was broken in half.

As she loaded the second arrow, he took advantage of the precious seconds. He had no doubt she would probably move back in an attempt to maintain their distance. His form approaching the stairs. He did not use his full speed, but even now he covered such distances faster than a human would be able to. His hand catching ahold of the banister. She could probably by this time fire another arrow if she decided to. He would have to be on his toes in a reaction now that the distance between them was shortened. Whatever the other chose, in a swift movement he was over the blockade between them. His form closer to her now, he once more looked at her. He made no move to directly attack her.

He had little reason to actually use full force or kill her at the moment, especially since she was a woman. Perhaps that was something of an advantade for her. His blade lowered a bit, but it sat at an angle. One that could be of use and deadly, depending how he chose to make the next movement with it. For now however, it was still. "How much do you know of events here?" he asked her, his eyes on hers. He admited he was curious of his earlier thoughts on this. She could never know the full story having not lived through it, but it did depend a bit on who was whispering in her ears. "Your actions and words clearly say you see me as the enemy...a threat..." he took a step up closer to her. His movements not forboding or convaying malice. She could chose to step back or stay.

He was not cornering her per say. She had plenty of ways to make the distance between them greater depending on how she moved. Would she retreat up the stairs? Would she jump the banister as he had? Each movement could tell a story about her. Frankly it had been so long since he last met someone outside of that man and his daughter. So to him in a way, she was like a book. Something new to learn about and see. From what he saw presently, she was not a bad looking woman. She could have been considered beautiful if the look she was giving him was not one of pure hatred and desired death. Still, she was still intruding. His path was to protect these walls. That meant as long as she continued this path before her, he was going to have to remove her from the grounds.

He kept his guard up, but yet again did not rush into another move. The ball once more in her court so to speak. His words might seem odd as well, something she might not care to answer or wonder why he might ask it of her. He then asked something random that might as well take one aback, "what is your name?"
