The aheets of music were snatched away before Fane could get more than the briefest of glimpses. His eyes followed Axel's hands, and made note if the white knuckled grip. That paired with the hint of uncertainty from earlier had Fane feeling echoes of their club encounter. He needed to figure out what to do, how to defuse the situation without hurting anyone's feelings.

His eyes flew to Lionus, then back to Axel as he made his final answer. "Maybe it's best to give Axel some time to look over the ideas for his song on his own. Maybe in next week's meeting, each of you could bring in any songs you might have been working on too, and we can discuss which ones the band would be interested in working on." Shifting the focus from Axel onto the other members and their work felt like the easiest way to give Axel some breathing room. Wanting to deflect everyone else's attention didn't make it any easier for Fane to ignore his concern for the rock star. He'd have to figure out a way to get Axel to stay longer after the meeting so they could finally talk again.
