Following the assistant's gaze, Layland turned to see Cian sitting on a bed. His calm faltered, but only a seconds worth of emotions showed on his face before he calmed it again. Why was Cian still here? Did he only wake up now, although it had been so long? "Oh, I see. I just wanted to check in. But I see that Cian is okay and my presence isn't needed. Good day then." Although he spoke the words to the nurse's assistant, he only looked at Cian. After another second, Layland nodded his head stiffly and backed out of the room and into the sunlight again.

Seeing Cian there surprised him and his thoughts whirled right back to what happened in the parking lot. Instead of avoiding the other student like usual, Layland leaned against the outside wall to wait for him. He still had questions and now that he had his composure, he could ask them without losing his cool. He just didn't want to talk inside where other ears could hear.
