Of-friggin-course the animal instantly went into hunting mode as Ryan stood up, his hand grasping the knife hilt firmly. His own icy blue orbs stared into the tiger's mysterious ones, as he guessed how long it would take before the feline would take it as a challenge. They both stood there like two hunters, muscles tense and ready to pounce, ready to attack. Only for him, he wouldn't be playing, he'd be doing it for life or death, not realizing the tiger-like creature meant no particular harm to him. City wasn't the best place to learn body language of animals other than some rabid dogs and very possibly the unusual setting also played part into his nervously aggressive reaction.

Hearing foot steps, he resisted the urge to glance in the direction. It couldn't be anyone else than Sophie. "Stay there," he told her, still hoping to keep her out of this mess, but of course it was too late already and as he realized, it was better that way anyhow. The girl called out an unfamiliar name and the tiger immediately responded to it, changing its posture to nearly displeased one or something and trotted over to the blonde. With incredulous expression, Ryan turned around, still not sheathing knife, and watched the reunion.

Finally, the knife was put away and albino man ran a hand through his hair. He hadn't had chance to brush it and pull in ponytail so now the white strands fell past his shoulders in a mess. "Your best friend, huh? Explains your people skills," he spoke with slight grimace, but not with enough insult in his tone to be meant truly meanly. "Could have taught her some table manners at least," he gestured to the mess near his 'bed' that Ayashe had made during her early morning snack. The last part was meant as a joke, but most likely fell flat as all his other ones, especially during his rather dry tone. That he still felt like fish out of water didn't help any, too.

He hadn't quite picked up everything Sophie had murmured to the feline, but guessed it was about him and nothing particularly flattering. He didn't deserve it anyhow. Which brought back thoughts to his original plan. "So, uh, since you got your furry body guard now and everything, I'll get going." He quickly moved to push some pillows in place and grab his bag before facing the girl again.

Although he hadn't had time to inspect his wounds, Ryan judged by muted pain that it couldn't be nearly as bad as last night. He could eat and drink, regain the lost blood and recover on his own now. "The medicine-stuff worked so... Uhh, thanks for that and letting me crash here." It was painfully obvious that he wasn't used to saying thanks, his eyes not even really meeting hers for more than brief moment. Turning around to leave, he flung his bag on back with wince - obviously, the wound wasn't all gone yet - and tugged on his earring.

If she stopped him, it depended what Sophie said, but he would probably argue with her, falling into more comfortable reactions and grumpiness. If she didn't, he would head towards the stairs, about to climb down, before turning around to say: "Take care, squirrel." Which, awkwardly enough, was probably one of the most sincere and nicest things he had said in a long while, especially to Sophie.
