Todd let Jess take his hand and pull him along. Truthfully, she was running a little too slow for him. The only reasons he didn't just run at full speed were that Jess wouldn't be able to keep up, and he didn't know where they were going. "Jess, are you sure you want to run away like this? You could go back. Just tell them that I made you do it, that I threatened you. I could run, and you'd be safe. You wouldn't have to leave your home." He said after a while. Though the thought of being all alone without Jess made his chest hurt, he didn't want to put her in a situation where she was running for her life. She didn't deserve that.
