It's a stupid nervous feeling. Choking up. You really do choke up. I'd always thought it was just a saying, but it's a physical reality.

It's like this strange feeling starts flowing through your veins. It's all over you--inside of you, so you can't just shake it off. It feels like the only way to get rid of it is to exit it from your body. You feel yourself instinctively making the feeling crawl up your throat and it tingles. Your throat constricts in discomfort.

You cough, but it won't go away, and you choke up. It's not just a saying. It's real.
