D.J.- I agree. I think it's great that your teacher/school requires The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time for that very reason, it's definitely a wake-up call to that.

I've only read The Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey. it was really good! iIve got to read the other books in that trilogy as well.

Thank you Amice! That reminds me of Inkheart, which was about a girl who's father could read things in/out of books. I loved Inkheart, so that sounds like an excellent read.

Ashtyn- Well, I think a lot of people don't consider online chatting a form of reading. :P Which is silly! But it does seem that the majority of Mene users do like books.
