I think it would be good if they don't know exactly what they're trying to destroy/protect. Like they think it's an object, but aren't exactly sure what. Just that it gives off a particular energy signature. Probably some kind of portal though or something that allows balance between them worlds.

I don't think we should start too far into their living together, so either right when they first move in or just a few weeks in.
