He heard the footfalls before he saw the man, running. As if the dogs of hell were nipping at his heels, it took Kurako a moment to realize that the man was running straight towards him. Normally quick to react, Kurako let the other bump into him, or rather, he had actually reacted a bit too slow. His mind to weighed with thoughts for his actions to be quick enough to avoid the collision, he was quick enough to move back after the initial hit. Feet moving with precision in a way so that he stepped back with the momentum of the bump to keep his balance instead of falling.
Gloved hand moved quickly to tug at his hood a bit more, trying to keep his face in it's shadow, but the sun was high and the shadow not as dark as Kurako would have liked. His lavender colored eyes roamed over the now standing figure before him. His lips parted slightly as he took in the sight before him. His first reaction was to look the man over for something to still. A thief's instinct, but this man didn't seem like the sort to have anything worth taking, if anything at all.
Kurako looked past the other for a moment, for a long moment. His body relaxing when he was satisfied that the other wasn't actually being pursued by anyone or anything. "Even if you're in a rush, you should always watch where you're going." There was no irritation in his voice, only amusement.
