Sounds followed his every step, but sometimes he forgot. Seeming human, Patrin did try his best, but he slipped up. Making branches fly back to wack him in the face on purpose was the hardest part.
He hoped he would finally be able to tell someone what he was. This man certainly seemed like he needed the help. But how could he tease such information from him? Patrin kept following the tug in his gut, the pull towards some possibility that there were others. "Patrin, is what I like being called." He didn't know if the name meant anything. It just sounded good to him.
"You are ... silent as an elf. Do you have any sylvan heritage?"
