Try? Was that a challenge? There was only amusement on Kurako's expression as he helped Patrin to his feet. "Ah, well I'm only in the habit of killing when it is completely unavoidable." He looked towards the mountains when Patrin mentioned them and frowned just slightly. A bow would be better for such terrain, but as Kurako had been intending only to go to another city, he had not brought one with him. He realized now how stupid that had been, even if he hadn't expected any distractions a bow in some situations could be far more useful than his daggers.
Normally Kurako wasn't so short sighted, and he simply blamed that on being blinded by the hope of finding something in Lita'Ria. Though it was a hope he had little belief in. That frown was gone quickly. "Not knowing much does make it more of an adventure and more dangerous." There was something in his voice, a bit of eagerness as he uttered the word 'dangerous'. Kurako wasn't completely self destructive yet, but he had been on a spiraling journey of self destructiveness ever since he felt that first bite of corruption in his heart.
He would rather die then let his curse corrupt him, corrupt who he was. He was a soft hearted thief, and eventually that corruption would turn him into a vile thing. Kurako knew that was a long way off, but even for a half elf who lived far longer than any human, a century was sometimes no more than the blink of an eye.
