Shadamimi, I think those teachers in some way should not represent Architecture's fault. lol.
Their humanity is in question. :/
In most of the university course I heard, the coursework design project had always been decided by lecturers. Only the final Master year, you get to choose your building type. Diploma, Bachelor and early Master had to adhere to the project brief given by the school.

To be honest, I don't seemed to get the architectural sense that most people appreciate.
