I see Mystic here as a type of fae who has the ability to transform into an animal. They wear the feathers or fur of the animal that they can turn into, in order to make the transformation go more smoothly and faster. When in "human" form, Mystic, as you can see, is garbed in a cloak and headdress both made of raven feathers. When Mystic transforms, they become a beautiful and sleek raven.
