Adam remained quiet, but kept playing. He didn't have the words to respond to Trey right now. He was so engrossed with his song that nothing else really seemed to be worth the extra breath. He decided that he liked Trey. The young man's quietness was easily reflected by Adam, all the while, Adam was hoping he could somehow help Trey feel less.... Lonely. After all, Adam was lonely himself. He felt that as vampires he and Trey should stick together. Loneliness for eternity sounded like a terrible way to live, but he'd understand if Trey didn't want to follow.

It calmed Adam when Trey went silent for a while and the music hung above the air alongside the sounds of the waves hitting the sides of the boat. Adam stayed quiet, letting his violin talk for him. When Trey spoke again, he wasn't even interrupted. He continued to play, just a little quieter as he started to respond to Trey,

"You tell me." Adam studied Trey's features as he continued playing. The way Trey crouched in front of the rails reminded him of the way Evelyn would crouch in front of the rivers in Manchester. Back then, when he and she were secretly courting, they'd often only come outside during night, where she'd show him the black moths and the fish that ate them. Trey even looked a little like Evelyn. Blonde hair. Skinny.

Adam abruptly stopped playing as his mind began to swim back to thoughts of Evelyn. He loved and hated to think of her, it always reminded him of his broken heart and made him hate his existence at times. What was the point of going on without Evelyn? But now that Trey was here... Well, at least he wouldn't be alone.

"Sorry." Adam whispered and he brought the violin back to his chin and continued to play where he'd left off.
