Oscoro watched the hole in the side of the mountain that served as the main entrance. He didn't see much activity apart from every once in a while a guard would poke it's head out very quickly and then vanish back to the interior. He never saw more than one guard at a time but there had to be quite a few in there. The old mine that was now being used as a torture dungeon had been open for a long time before it was abandoned. Many years ago humans dug and toiled on the side of that mountain and bore through it like termites in a tree. There were countless tunnels that could lead to dead ends or pits or anything.
Urgh, Oscoro put his face in his claws. "Think, darnit!" For all he knew Zephyr was getting tortured to death in there and all he could do was sit and look at that hole. That stupid entrance. It was so far from where he had spoken to Zephyr through the crack where she was being held.
If only he had a pick or a piece of metal or some explosives. His stomach growled reminding him that he hadn't eaten in a while. Inwardly he kicked himself for being hungry when Zephyr's life was in danger.
"That's it!" Oscoro looked up quickly and began looking around the other parts of the mountain. His logic told him that if there was one entrance to a mine that huge, there had to be at least one more. It would have only made sense in the even of a cave in to have more than one exit. The only thing was, IF there was one, he'd have to search the entire mountain top to bottom.
Oscoro jumped down from the large tree he was hiding in and stalked closer to the mountain. The entrance that he had been watching was a good 200 feet up a narrow trail on the side of the mountain. There would have been no way for humans to move large amounts of supplies, like what would be needed to feed hundreds of miners, up that perilous and tiny trail. The other entrance had to be closer to the foot of the mountain.
It HAD to be.
