Although he was beyond tired, there were some things instilled in the very core of this man and one of them was that if something's going on around you as you sleep, you have to get up because it might not be safe. Hence, the shuffling of the large creature got through his slumber rather quickly.

Ryan was used to snapping awake in matter of seconds, but the speed with which he realized the new situation and evaluated it was truly worth admiring. Pale eyes, barely open, opened and focused straight on the beast (in his mind). Part of the man wanted to get up, but the other realized quick movements might not be the best choice. Hand slowly moving to the dagger, just in case, he slowly sat up. "Easy there, easy," he spoke in quiet, calm voice, although he didn't really feel all that calm. His experience with animals that weren't huge rats and wild, stray dogs ready to kill even humans was minimal.

"Good kitty, good," he continued his kind of cooing, carefully putting his feet down to the ground. Now he had to decide what he'd do next. Try to sneak away from this animal and tree-house? But it'd leave Sophie alone with this creature. Upstairs, sleeping, vulnerable. Although he had no debt to her, Ryan felt he couldn't leave it so. So, he had to lure the animal away somehow. It seemed hungry, maybe he could entice it with some food or just go ahead and run, hoping one of his shields would protect it from the tiger's attacks? Animals went after running prey, usually.

Now would be good time to test what would happen if he stood up. Tentatively, still talking to the creature, Ryan went to stand up and then decide upon its reaction what he'd do next. So much for safety and all things good. How did Sophie even manage to survive here??
