Halvard Vinter, often called Hal or Halv, found himself thirsting for energy this morning. Having stayed up late the night before to finish up a case, he sluggishly trudged his way across the room filled with desks. Half the desks were already preoccupied while the other half were just getting their owners. Halvard's desk, the furthest from where he stood, remained unoccupied and it would stay that way until he found himself some liquid motivation.

His sleepy eyes didn't even acknowledge that the boss had arrived. But why would they? They were practically shut with exhaustion. Whoa is the life of an agent who works far too hard for his own damn good. Bumping into the chest of a rather well-endowed woman, Hal finally managed to open his eyes past the halfway point.

"Yo," he said in a slumbersome tone to the fiery redhead that stood before him. He gave Rynn a half smile before he wobbled on his merry way. Sadly, he didn't make it very fair. He realized that machine was already empty. Shuffling backwards, he looked at Rynn's green orbs and lethargically pointed upstairs. "Don't suppose you want to join me in the quest to obtain caffeine," he murmured. It was at times like these that people would question Hal's quality as an agent. If he was this easily overcome by exhaustion, he surely was no use, right? Wrong. Hal was dedicated, working longer and harder than the rest. Tonight wasn't his first night not sleeping. In fact, tonight marked the forth night in a row that he had gotten less than four hours of sleep. He was on a mission, and a tough one at that.

Grabbing Rynn by the ass, accidentally, he pulled the woman with him as his hunt for the brown delight continued. Just as he was about to reach the elevator, he spied another agent rising from his seat to put on another pot. A look of sheer annoyance washed over his face. "I hate everyone," he mentioned in a cold, emotionless tone. At this point, there was no need to go upstairs, especially since neither knew if the coffee was even in existence up there. Again, Halvard pivoted on his heels and made his way toward the break room. The scent of fresh brewing coffee served as his only means for picking up the pace, which practically toppled Rynn into a row of desks.

"Hey now," he tried to joke, "this is a matter of life or death." Yanking the beauty's arm, he made sure she stayed by his side. It was always good to have a Shi No Ba'nin on your side. After all, this was precious coffee we're talking about! Who knows what the other agents might try to pull on the dead tired Halvard!

Now that he was before the machine that was slowly beginning to spit out the liquid of his desire, he purred a bit in delight. Wafting in that sweet smell, he let out a sigh of happiness. "At least," he cooed while rubbing his cheek against the machine's warm body. "Come to Halvy. Dad's got you." A sleep deprived man was truly a sight to behold, so much so that some of the co-workers rose from their seats to Instagram and Vine the moment.

With the pot full, Halvard poured himself a cup. Not even waiting to let the contents cool, he lapped down the richness. The heat should have burned his throat, but he was used to drinking his dark coffee hot so it phased him nonetheless. Pouring another cup for he, he also poured one for Rynn. "If I ever die, I want to come back as the Coffee King," Halvard said sloppily as he drank up. Sometimes it was nice to have a nutcase on the squad. At least he made the morning routine highly amusing.

Purring again, he dragged Rynn out of the break room and toward his desk. "Sir," he said while passing the leader. Finally at his seat, he crashed his head on his desk before looking lazily up at Rynn and the approaching Hatsuharu. "Today's orders, Sir?"
