The blood on the needle made it hard to hold, but Will kept going with the stitches, trying to be as quick as possible for May's sake. Will glanced up to see May collapsed on the sand. He realized that this was not a particularly pleasant sight to witness. Although, it was probably be easier if she weren't aware. The wound was messy, despite cleaning it as well as he could, the skin teared and open. He concentrated on closing the wound with the stitches. The skin came together well, making his way down the leg, tying off the stitches as he went. Will leant over to his kit and picked out the small surgical scissors, cutting off the suture material at the end of his last knot. He wiped away the dried blood around the stitch, checking his work, before rummaging in the kit to find the bandages. He knew very well that in this environment it would be nearly impossible to keep the bandage dry and clean, but the risk of infection was too high not to keep up with replacing bandages often. He hoped there would be enough to last however long they were stuck there.

Will pulled out the first one he came across. He unrolled the bandage and lifted May's leg, wrapping the material around many times to cover the stitched wound, trying to keep her skin as clear of sand as possible. He tied the bandage three times to make sure it was secure.

"There we go" Will said quietly with a tired sigh, knowing neither May or Collin would hear him. They looked peaceful, even with their ripped clothes and bruised skin, liked they were lulled into a sleep by the hypnotic sound of the waves. Watching their chests rise and fall sent Will into a daze, exhaustion numbing his body and making his head swirl with drowsiness. Sleep called him. But he knew that he would be no help if he joined them and laid down and surrendered to the fatigue. He looked up at the sky, the sun had moved so far in the blink of an eye. How long had they been under the shelter? Where was Dr. Rider? Will spun his head round to face the ocean. Even the concept of Dr. Rider being there started to creep into doubt. The delirium was starting to affect Will's perception. No, Dr. Rider had gone to look for supplies. He must be somewhere out there. Will thought of how he should go and look, in case he was in trouble, but his body felt disconnected and moved at a snails pace. He managed to stand up, after closing his kit to keep safe, and look out to sea, shielding his eyes with his hand as he entered the sunlight once more. Will snapped back into reality as he saw Dr. Rider making his way back towards him.

Dr. Rider staggered out of the water, holding onto a silver packages stuck together. Although it didn't look like much, Dr. Rider had found pouches of camping food floating in the water among the debris. Two packs of three pouches wouldn't last them a lifetime, but could keep them going at least for now. He raised his arm slowly, lifting the packages up high, his breath heavy and sweat beading across his head. "Food" he breathed, not loud enough, but the motion of which able to attract Will's attention. Will jogged over to Dr. Rider, putting his hand on his shoulder "Are you okay?" he asked, concerned. Dr. Rider only replied with more heavy breathing "Come, get in the shade, lie down" Will instructed with urgency. He took the packages off him as Dr. Rider reached the shade. Will hadn't realized how hungry he felt until he saw the packaged food, his stomach now groaning at the prospect. "Thank God" he said "We needed this" looking up at the others. He nodded to Dr. Rider in thanks and Dr. Rider nodded back, trying to catch his breath and cool down.
