Eddie shrugged. "Well when your back's against a wall who can you trust but someone that's been trustworthy before? I didn't say I had no friends. I don't have many, but I got a few. Hell, Dylan, no one can live---or exist---without even one friend. And if you say you can you're either lying or you're living a pretty crap, lonely life." He waved Dylan in. "C'mon in then. This'll be your place for a while too. Or until you figure out what you want to do." He rolled his eyes. "So take a look around. Don't open any doors that are closed upstairs, don't touch anything that looks halfway important. I'll be downstairs---come through that door and you'll find a stairwell. Go down and you'll find a door, open it if it's closed but only if I'm in there."

With that, he stalked off. He didn't care what Dylan did, if he decided to run off with something or take something, or break something. He just needed to be alone for a while, and definitely not in the presence of Dylan.
