Kiernan's smile only brightened as he saw the blush run across her face, glad his compliment actually proved its worth. He had been wary of his words as soon as they'd left his mouth, but apparently she understood that he had indeed meant to say that she looked stunning. As she reacted to his question of her tattoos, he quirked an eyebrow up at her as she looked about to touch one of them, then changed her mind. Are they not tattoos? Eyebrows drawing together in confusion at that concept, he instead shook his head a little to dismiss the thought. It wasn't worth dwelling on at the moment, especially with her drawing near. He wasn't sure what to make of her gaze remaining on his form, whether it was a good or bad thing, but at least took comfort in the fact that he knew he was well in shape. In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but fancy the idea that she may even like what she saw.

As she drew close to him, he felt his pulse pick up, unsure of her plans as she set her cloak and clasp on the bed beside him. She surprised him by taking his arm, his eyes widening and lips parting, but no words of protest coming to him. Instead, he allowed her to grasp it like so, his gaze training itself on her face to read her take on it. It wasn't something he was familiar with, having another inspect his false arm so closely-- in fact, it wasn't something he typically showed others at all. It was gruesome and unnatural; to him it was a painful reminder of failure and disgust. People had judged him harshly based upon it, when he had at some times shown it publicly. However, here he was, surprising even himself by allowing her to touch and inspect it as she pleased. "You may," he spoke quietly, just a bit tense as he prepared for what could be a bad reaction from her. Still, he had some hope as he allowed his head to tilt up to look at her. She was different, and she even dared to touch it after seeing it.

As she spoke to herself, he began to feel himself calm, as if this were some sort of typical check up on the parts involved. Her technical speech drew his eyes to widen a tad, unsure of how she picked up on how it all worked so quickly. It rather amazed him, truly. As her gaze met his again, he felt his heart skip in his chest. She's curious, not disgusted int he least. A slow smile slid up along his lips. "Yes, it's magic. The construction itself is not, but the attachment and its motions are." He admitted with surprising ease, unsure of how she enabled him to calm himself, "It's not perfect, but... it's working. I'm still getting acquired to the focus it takes some times."

As if shy, he lowered his gaze to his hand in hers, thoughtful in the few moments of silence. "I'm unable to focus on any other abilities with it in use. It's a stubborn aesthetic, really." He explained with a small chuckle, which trailed off as he let his gaze move back to her. "Most don't take interest in it. It's abnormal here," he added, curiously, to say that he was surprised in her actions. However, it was also something of another question in itself. Is she really unphased by this?
