She felt her face drain of color as she looked at the mess. Swallowing, failing, and then trying again, she got herself steadied. Instead of answering him, she slowly stepped forward until she was standing right in front of him. Looking at it, she hesitantly suggested, "Lay down with your head tilted over the creek. I'll rinse it out for starters." Water. Nothing could be more lifesaving at her disposal that water. And he needed to have something done. It hurt her inside to see the mess it was in.
