Giselle screamed upon seeing the beast rushing towards them, and Maurice spun about, pulling her behind him in a futile attempt to protect her. It would take only a swipe of this creatures paws to shred them to pieces.

"I-We apologize... We did not know they belonged to anyone, we thought the manor to be deserted!" Maurice replied, voice an octave or two higher than usual due to his fear. His knees shook, and he was likely only moments away from wetting himself in fear, but he stood his ground between the beast and his wife "W-we meant no disrespect, sir, I swear!"

Giselle nodded, cowering behind her husband. "We only stopped to pick them to sell in town, to help us provide for our daughter..." She added, voice soft, trying not to enrage the creature more.
