Giselle and Belle both frowned, Belle in confusion and her mother in anger and frustration. Looking to her mother, Belle asked, "What's he mean, mama?"

Sighing softly, Giselle knelt, putting her and Belle on the same level. "You remember a few nights ago, your father and I came home late, with all those pretty roses?" She paused, letting Belle a chance to nod. "Well, it turns out the estate we found them overgrowing belonged to him." She pointed towards Vadim.

"But what does any of that have to do with me?" She asked, confused.

Sighing softly, looking almost heartbroken, Giselle wrapped her arms around her daughter. "Your father made a deal with him... In exchange for our lives, and his roses, he could have you..." She said, pulling back a bit to look her child in the eye. "I didn't want to agree, Belle, darling... But I didn't see any other way out of the situation."

Belle was stunned. "You- you sold me? For a bunch of flowers?" She pulled away from her mother, running off to her room in tears, feeling betrayed.
