It felt like they were playing some kind of wicked ping pong game, in which he not only threw the ball back in her side, but also reflected, mocked, the way she had hit. In moments, they went from chatting and laughing to curt, short exchange and even if it was her that had been the start of it, it felt like even further proof he hadn't really meant that beautiful comment. Or else he wouldn't get so offended and tell her some nonsense like 'it's not flattering if it's the truth' or something equally cheesy, with that goofy grin on his face.

What's worse, the situation was quickly being blown out of proportion by her own conflicted feelings. Mae knew she shouldn't be paying attention to this, they weren't friends, not even colleagues or classmates, but somehow, she felt annoyed and the kind of annoyed that wanted to be let out. And it wasn't often that she felt like that. At Saith's disbelief about her class schedule, woman's head snapped up. "I do, obviously. It is extra credit class I enjoy thoroughly, if you must know."

But what elf saw made her voice nearly trail off, the look on the man's face was of deep thought and nearly wonder and she couldn't help but try to imagine just what he was thinking of. She wouldn't have to guess long, though, as their blue eyes, each pair a different shade and level of intensity, met and she... Kind of froze. Not quite like a deer in headlights, no, she was far too dignified for that, but then again, she had deemed herself far too cold and dignified to be held captive by any man's gaze on any level.

Yet here she was, listening to silky, seductive words fall from his lips, unable to even stop him, just look at the man as her cheeks grew hotter and hotter. They were very much alone this very moment, too, and until now, it hadn't even really crossed her mind, but now Mae felt as if the world zeroed in on the fact, her heart speeding up anxiously (excitedly?). It was the way he spoke, unspoken suggestions... Wait, not so unspoken anymore.

He made it sound like a... Date. No, worse! Something much more than date. And Mae couldn't help those tiny flashes of scenarios that went through her mind. By Sun, she should be furious that he, nearly a stranger, would suggest something like this, whatever he was really meaning, but she wasn't. Well, she was a bit, but not on the level she rightfully could be.

By the word 'creative', even her ears had become a pleasant blushing pink. Honestly, had this look of hers been captured in photo, it would have become an university wide meme for sure.

Still, he couldn't be meaning anything of... Well, that date and more sort of things, no! She wasn't his type... Again, the thought of him being set up to this due to dare or something crossed her mind, but so did the words he had spoken last night to those first years. And even though she couldn't be sure she was the one he had referred to, her heartbeat seemed to have decided anyhow. At least for this moment. Ducking her head and tucking strand of hair behind her still slightly flushed ear in what seemed quite flustered gesture, she broke their staring mini-contest. "I, uhm, should go. To the class." Hurriedly, she was turning off the pc and gathering her things. "You don't have to stay and wait for me, if you uh, don't want to. It's your day off and all. So, see you..." She probably hadn't sounded so flustered and unsure in years as she did speaking right now, last words said as she looked at him from the doorway before rushing out.

Heading towards her class, Mae struggled not only with wanting to bang her head against the wall for how stupid she had acted just now with Saith, but also the flow of students. Normally, at this time of day, everyone was rushing out of the buildings, so it was like swimming upstream in fish filled river. Luckily, she was at least river princess if not queen, so people often parted and gave her way, but in this still embarrassed and angry state, she wasn't looking around much and could very well bump into someone. Which also happened, as she turned around a corner...
