Same thing in the US. However, it seems as though giving a Black History Month is just a way to separate us and take away from the accomplishments of our people. We are giving a special month for our history and heritage? Our history is American history. It's the way I see it. Just an opinion. My thinking is not the thinking of the world, so our history month is needed to bring to light our true history. Not what was kept out of books when my parents were growing up.
Kwanzaa is a way to honor our history outside of it's designated month. At one time, it was a sort of Christmas boycott, but modern day Kwanzaa is meant to go side by side with Christmas, as both holidays are different at their core.
