Long ago, two mages were the best of friends. They grew up, learned, practiced, and laughed together. As children, they knew their paths would take them in different directions, maybe because of their type of magic or alignment, but they wanted to always remain friends. So, they swore a blood oath with magic the day before they would part ways. Years passed and everything in their world's changed. They became rivals, even enemies at times, but due to their oath, they could never harm each other. They resorted to petty nuisance and always trying to one up each other and yet the old pull between them never truly faded. What caused them to change so much as adults and can they ever fix it and remember why they swore a blood oath in the first place?

When an assassin feels guilty after a kill, he finds himself stuck outside in a sudden snowstorm. Rather than save himself, his guilt drives him to protect a struggling plant at his own distress. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the forest with a strange plant-like being taking care of him. From there starts the awkward relationship of an assassin running from his past and a being from an entirely different world.

Seeing What Other's Can't

Magic always comes at a price, especially to those born of magic. For most, that price is isolation, for Luna, it was her freedom. Afraid of the future that she might see Luna was sold to a rich man who wanted to develop her power and use it for his own gain and he did. He used her and her power until she was of no more use to him, then he sold her to the next. Master after master Luna did her part until she was sold to a particularly devious and violent man. When she predicted anything he didn't like he would beat and torture her, and when she predicted his death, he took her sight from her as punishment. Because he chose not to learn from her warning, he died a painful death and she was taken back to the market to be sold once again. Will this master take pity on her and help her learn how to live without her sight, or will they be like so many others and simply use Luna until they are satisfied?
