Bromeliads

Among the bromeliads you find the aged remains of what looks to be a large mammal. You shove your trepidation aside and tear a piece of hide away from the carcass. Impressed by your own bravado, you wrest a large bone free, too.

Vines

The vines, great idea! They're like a natural rope, and they're just hanging there for all to see - it's almost too easy. This could have ended horribly, but somehow you actually manage to pull some down & coil them up for transporting back.

Cubby in roots

Apparently all those adventure movies with people sticking their hands into dark holes escaped your notice, because you decide to stick your hands into the dark cubby in the roots. It's kind of moist and gooey in here, and you don't know what the heck you just touched. When you pull your hand out, your nostrils are hit with the most hideous odor you've ever smelled. There are strands of something yellowish and mucousy between your fingers & you freak out and wipe it on your shirt without thinking. GAHH! Imagine rotten eggs mixed with burnt hair, with a side of overripe mango & maple syrup.. Yeah, that's what you smell like now.

Along the path

Walking along the path, you drink in the sights and sounds around you. Everything is so alive here! You can't help but be a bit awestruck, and you realize something. No matter what happens next, the experience of being deep in the jungle together is going to stick with you for a long time. (Deep in the Jungle EI)

Ooo a nest!

You decide that the nest seems like a perfect place to look. Perhaps there will be some eggs left behind you can bring back for the group! Taking a stick to try knocking it down you realize too late that this is not a birds nest at all... You're surrounded by BEES! They haven't stung you.. yet.

Jungle ferns

Searching the jungle ferns yields a pleasant surprise: they're bursting with tender shoots that are just at the right stage for eating. Knowing that the ability to gather food from your environment is a crucial component of survival, you gently harvest the fiddleheads and wrap them in a larger frond for transportation.
